What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient, healing art that originated in Tibet. It is believed that in ancient times, such healing arts were available to many. Reiki was rediscovered and received by Dr. Mikas Usui in the 1800’s. It is a very simple and powerful healing technique that reduces stress and helps with relaxation. Reiki can help on all levels of healing, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual by supporting and enhancing the natural healing process. 

The word Reiki means universal life energy. The word consists of two parts: the rei describes the universal energy, and ki is the vital life force energy which flows through all living beings.

Reiki is done by the laying of hands on or off the body to comfort and relieve pain and discomforts one might have. Reiki helps remove blocked energy that can cause discomfort in the body, mind or spirit. Reiki helps relax and brings peace within. The art of hands on healing such as Reiki has been used in many cultures throughout the world.

Free Reiki Circle

You’re invited to join us at Island Woman’s Healing every second Saturday of the month for a gathering Reiki Circle from 2:00 – 4:30 PM. Reiki Practitioners and Energy light workers of other modalities are welcome. We will be offering our services for Free Reiki healing sessions. We will be doing healing sessions as a collective working with each other.
